Approaching System Effects in Papermaking Process
Some readers may doubt what the approaching system effects are, since paper pulp has been screened and cleaned up before. This article analyzes the main reasons of that, and summarizes the effects of approaching system in papermaking process.
Ⅰ. The fibers of high-quality paper have well-closed formation, and everywhere of it has the same physical properties and quality index. To meet these requirements, generally the paper pulp should be diluted into thin water solution, and then fiber won’t gather together. Thus the slurry can form even paper when it goes through wire part of paper machine.
Ⅱ. Maybe the slurry still contains impurities, which haven’t been removed in pulp process. What’s more, because of the operation of mechanical treatment and damaged paper addition, it may mix rare silt, metal or other impurities. What’s more, because paper pulp has been stored for a certain time, fibers will roll and twine along chest wall, and then form fiber bundle. Besides, it is inevitable that the slurry will be mix with air. All these impurities will not only impact finished paper quality, but also damage wire and machine.
The main effects of approaching system can be summarized as follows:
- Fully mingle slurry;
- Dilute paper pulp to the headbox inlet consistency;
- Removing impurities of paper pulp;
- Stabilize the consistency and flow.
Approaching System is very important in papermaking process, and it is the essential points to manufacture high quality paper. With the improvement of paper machine speed, the requirements for approaching system will be higher.
